JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Test Leader to lead the Tester team. This role requires a solid foundation in both manual and automation testing, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the software testing lifecycle in agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead and manage the Tester team, including manual and automation testers.
- Provide mentoring, training, and career development support for team members.
- Ensure efficient task allocation and performance monitoring.
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and quality-driven culture.
Test Strategy & Execution
- Define and continuously refine test strategies, processes, and metrics.
- Oversee test planning and execution across web, mobile, and API layers.
- Ensure effective coverage through a combination of manual and automated tests.
- Coordinate regression, UAT, and release readiness activities.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication
- Work closely with Product Owners, BAs, Developers, and other stakeholders to ensure clarity of requirements and timely delivery.
- Provide clear communication of risks, progress, and quality metrics to management and project teams.
- Collaborate with the Hanoi Tester leadership to align on test strategy, process, and reporting.
Test Automation & CI/CD Integration
- Oversee automation framework adoption and test suite maintenance.
- Ensure alignment of automation coverage with manual test scenarios.
- Promote integration of test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
Quality Monitoring
- Enforce quality gates for releases based on metric thresholds and risk assessment.
- Monitor defect trends, test coverage, and escaped defect rates to drive continuous improvement.
- Track quality KPIs, including test efficiency, defect rates, and coverage.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Leadership
- 7 + years of experience in software testing, with exposure to both manual and automation.
- At least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies and ceremonies.
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., Testmo, Xray), bug tracking (e.g., JIRA), and documentation (e.g., Confluence).
Technical Understanding
- Solid understanding of software testing across multiple layers: UI (Web/Mobile), API, and Backend.
- Familiar with modern automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Appium, Rest Assured) to guide team direction.
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker).
- Understanding of microservice-based architecture and relevant testing implications.
- Capable of guiding team members on automation, test data strategy, and performance testing at a high level.
- Knowledgeable in defining and tracking quality metrics (e.g., defect rate, automation coverage, test effectiveness).
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in banking/fintech domain or core banking systems (e.g., T24, FX, Fund Transfer, etc.).
- Understanding of security testing.
- Experience leading distributed QA teams.
